The adjustments Covid-19 is making to tooth extraction procedures

Can you undergo implantation and dental treatment with coronavirus? Should you get your teeth treated or wait until the coronavirus passes?

Should I get dental treatment or wait until the coronavirus pandemic is over?

News from September 20, 2021

We want to warn all our patients who have already had a coronavirus infection. There is one serious complication after this disease, and you need to know about it!

The thing is that anticoagulants are most often prescribed for the treatment of Covid-19. These medications help patients with Covid-19 (moderate and severe) thin the blood. After treatment with anticoagulants, patients should be more careful about tooth extraction or any other procedures where minor bleeding is expected. The thing is that thinned blood clots very poorly and can lead to major blood loss, even if it's just a routine tooth extraction!

To avoid unwanted consequences for patients who have already had Covid-19 and took anticoagulants, we have decided to request a coagulogram from such patients (children are not routinely prescribed anticoagulants).

We ask you to understand this. This is a very important requirement that will help perform the procedure safely!
